Geometry Geniuses Zara Ratnani, Year 5 The smart geometry wizards in Year 3 are having fun in class. They are making nets of solid, geometric shapes with paper - like pyramids and cubes. They are having fun because the folding, pasting and gluing. They are doing this to learn geometric shapes like cubes and pyramids. It is basically learning Math but while having loads of fun. Some of them are really enjoying even though some struggled just a bit. It is important to for the students because when they grow up, they need to know how to construct geometric shapes. They also need to pay attention to the details by folding lines properly. When making nets, first they need to cut and follow the black line. Then, they need to fold the net and they have to glue some sides. Then they need to paste it to the other side and keep folding till it becomes a cube. Another plus for the Year 3s is there recent visit to the museum! The Year 3 students looked at some prehistoric artifacts at the Museum Nasional. They learnt about some prehistoric fossils discovered in Indonesia. 6
