It’s a milestone year for Pexhurst as
2017 sees the business turn 40. Es-
tablished in 1977 by its late founder
John Vella, the company has grown
from a small office fit-out specialist
to managing and carrying out large-
scale refurbishments of commercial
and industrial properties, complex
projects in the healthcare and educa-
tion industry, and the restoration of
listed buildings.
Nick Tagliarini, Director, says the
company’s longevity is due to its people
as much as its ability to adapt to market
trends over the years. Indeed, the major-
ity of Pexhurst’s staff has enjoyed more
than a decade’s worth of service with the
business, ensuring skills are nurtured, de-
veloped and retained. That has comple-
mented Pexhurst’s ability to achieve prof-
itable growth over the last 40 years, never
forgetting that old industry saying: “you’re
only as good as your last job.”
It’s a sentiment echoed by Managing
Director Martin Vella. In acknowledging a
report from Plimsoll, which rated Pexhurst
as one of the leading performers amongst
the UK’s largest interior fit out and office
refurbishment companies, he said, “Suc-
cess would not be possible without our
people, who are hugely important to us.”
He adds, “Wherever possible we like to
develop talent and promote from within,
and we are proud that many of our people
have worked with us for 10 years or more.
2016 was another successful year for us
and we have ambitions for further profita-
ble growth in the years to come.”
