There have been many challenges being the first class of students at a brand-new school, but through these challenges a tight-knit community was created. It feels more like a family than a high school. The students have learned to trust each other through thick and thin, allowing us to become individuals and grow as people. Our teachers genuinely care about us, and while I am still anxious about my final year of high school and going to college, I know that I have the support of everyone at NDA. “ “ My four years at Reynolds High School have been nothing but amazing. One of the things I have learned during my time in high school is the true meaning of family and community. Another major lesson I learned is that good leadership sets a foundation for student success, and there is no other person that exemplifies that than Mrs. Doris Sellers. Reynolds High School has not only prepared me academically, but has prepared me for the real world, setting me up for a successful future. I’ll be a pre-med biology major next year at Clemson University. “ P atricia E lliott J ayda H art Clyde A. Erwin High School A.C. Reynolds High School “ I am going to basic combat training this August, then straight to advanced individual training for the National Guard. I’m already admitted to Appalachian State for the fall of 2018. I’ll get to stay in North Carolina, pursue my military career, and get benefits from the Guard. Erwin helped me realize I have what it takes to be successful in the military and at college. The JROTC instructors taught me how to be a better citizen in my community and helped me realize it’s good to give back, have fun, and be smart with what you do. “ 14
