BEST Conference this Summer Hundreds of BCS educators attended the BEST STEAM PowerED* conference in August at North Buncombe High School. There were over 230 engaging and informative sessions ranging from 3-D printing to video production. “There were so many sessions. I enjoyed seeing so many colleagues from all over the county having fun,” says Rachel Edwards, Media Specialist at Erwin HS. “It didn’t feel like work; it was like teacher summer camp!” This year’s list of presenters included colleagues from NCDPI, UNCA, Appalachian State, Mars Hill University, UNC-Chapel Hill, Charlotte, and Shelby, N.C.
