Art has to touch the soul of both the artist and the viewer. Nowhere is this more apparent than in this perfect painting by Mark John Maguire. Throughout all his work he seems to say "let me show you what I have seen, what I have loved, and perhaps you will see it and love it too". Again in this scene we see the tensions, the morning after the night before, the critical moment in a relationship - an end of illusion. The sparsely decorated, minimalist apartment removes all elements of distraction from our eyes and we are invited to contemplate the emotional crisis of the 2 protagonists against the background of a beautiful morning.
