I am certain you are partial to all your songs, but do you have a favorite song?

Farahri

I do actually! My favorite song is Perfect Shadow. This song woke me up at 5am one morning and I couldn’t go back to sleep. I pulled out my phone and just kept writing thoughts, lyrics, feelings and then took it to my co-writer and vocal producer who helped turn it into a masterpiece. This song is what I would call a 3D experience with all the harmonic layers and interwoven poetry and meaning. It’s not everyday a song like this works but I’m so happy this one did.

You have worked with many other celebrities, can you tell our Bay Life Living Readers who you have worked with? AND who you have not worked with but wish too?

Farahri

I’ve been able to work with some really talented celebrities including Gyptian, Choclair and Farenheit (Sean Paul’s artist) all of whom feature on my songs. I’ve performed and opened for artists such as: Usher, Howie D. (Backstreet Boys), Karl Wolf, Massari and Beenie Man. I would love to work with Sia, Pitbull, Sean Paul and Slash (Guns n Roses) amongst many others.

As 2016 is fast approaching tell us what your fans are to expect and look out for?

Farahri

We are going to be heavily promoting this EP and hopefully landing a national tour. ‘Fireflys’ can look forward to music videos, remixes, surprise contests and concerts. Also I’m going to start working on my full album so there may even be an advanced single from that towards the end of next year ;)

It is said that you have established yourself as a trendsetter, can you tell me more about this?

Farahri

I just love to have an edge of uniqueness in what and how I wear things. Even if I wear something simple or something everyone has, when I look in the mirror I find a way to make it look different on me. I attribute my love for heavily accessorizing to my Indian background. Accessories are a great way to stand out and my manager had some really cool ideas to use accessories that were not the norm. In terms of being a trendsetter, that’s kind of something someone just calls you one day and then it sticks lol. I’m definitely not complaining!

Farahri how do you balance, your modeling, your music, just everything including your daily obligations within your work and life in general?

Farahri

That is probably the most challenging of everything because there is ALWAYS so much going on, especially at this stage. I keep saying “I’ll take a break next week or when this or that is finished…” those days never come because there’s always something else to address or work on. That’s why its soooo important to be insanely in love with what you’re doing and why. It’s most frustrating when I have to deal with non-artist/music stuff, but that’s still a part of my life right now so things have to get done somehow. The most important things I do though is drink plenty of water. You’d be surprised how much that helps with lack of sleep and fatigue in general. I also remember to be thankful as much as I possibly can to keep perspective. Most importantly, I reflect on my ‘why’ at critical times. My ‘why’ is to leave a legacy in this world, to use my passions, to push my limits, reach my potential and help others reach theirs. More self-love will lead to more love overall and that’s what Fireflys are about.
