Rob, what is a good age to start skiing?

Rob

I started when I was two. Three of my kids started before they were 1 year and they started walking right after then. Charley Grace, stated when she was 2 and a half years old. I would say between two and three years of age as kids are starting to have a little bit more muscle memory. I think that is the best time to start children because they have a little more attention span. Also, too, at this age they have a little more endurance and can go out for an hour or so. That way they really get something out of skiing.

I truly would like to encourage all parents in Toronto, and in the surrounding areas, the importance of making the effort each and every weekend, time permitted, to take your children skiing. The bonding with your children is so important. It is a positive diversion at the very least. Getting outside in the fresh air, participating, and being with your family, is heartfelt. It creates family memories that last a lifetime.

Skiing, I might add, has really no language barriers, it is not intended to be competitive. It is a social event of fun that is exhilarating and inspirational. However, certainly, you can take it a step up and even think about skiing at a national level. Or, even in the Olympics. It is fun to goal set.

Get out today, this winter, and participate in something that will create lasting memories each and every time you hit the slopes here at Mount St. Louis, Moonstone.
