Alumni and Faculty of Toronto’s Harris Institute received 118 JUNO, Grammy, Emmy, ECMA, SOCAN, CCMA, TEC, BET, CMW, Canadian Screen Award, MMVA, MTV, CMAO, SCMA, BCCMA, Hamilton Music and International Songwriting Competition awards and nominations in 2015 and 2014.

Alumni contributed to the #1 Billboard hits ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’ and ‘Earned It’ by The Weeknd, ‘Roar’ by Katy Perry, ‘Wrecking Ball’ by Miley Cyrus, the soundtrack for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and the music for the ‘Mad Max’ trailer.

Mike Denney, one of the college’s first graduates, won the CCMA ‘Record Company Person of the Year’, his MDM Recordings won ‘Record Company of the Year’ and MDM artist Jess Moskaluke won ‘Female Artist of the Year’.

Stephan Moccio, who has been managed by Harris honours grad Jamie Porter since 1995, is nominated as a co-writer or co-producer with The Weeknd for 6 Grammy Awards including Album of the Year, Best R&B Song, Best Soundtrack, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best R&B Performance and Best Song Written for Contemporary Media.

Martin Pilchner, who is the Associate Director of the Audio Production Program, is nominated for 2 TEC Awards for ‘Studio Designer of the Year’ for Beltway Studios in Houston, Texas and Jukasa Studios in Caledonia, Ontario.
