Humor, Healing & Handling Those Times When Even Your Skin Feels Wrong

BOBBY HENLINE

November 3, 2014

The Love between Gold Star Wife Melissa Jarboe and her Husband SGT. Jamie Jarboe along with my own life experiences inspired me to write "Kisses" on the plane yesterday after spending a couple of days with Melissa and paying respect to brother in arms Jamie Jarboe at his grave site.

Kisses

We give and receive so many types of kisses during our lives. The most precious kisses mark mile stones through out our lives. A lot of them are first kisses.

A mothers first kiss to her newborn

Kisses on a sick child's forehead

Kisses that heal boo boos

A grandparents kiss with cookies

Gross kisses from siblings

A first crush, kiss on the lips

A missed friends kiss on the cheek Your first French kiss

dared by your best friend

First kiss of a relationship

First kiss as Husband & Wife

Telling your boss to kiss your...

Kiss good bye to deploying spouse

A welcome home kiss from war

Grieving families kisses

on a headstone

The hardest kiss you'll ever give

is a good bye kiss....forever

So today, tell someone you love

How much you love them

and kiss them

like there's no tomorrow

- Bobby Henline -

To say Bobby Henline is an inspiration would, quite frankly, be an understatement—and that isn’t because he’s one of my favorite people in the world. It’s simple because this man—who has every right to dwell in the aftermath of the trauma he endured—chooses to humbly help others heal through humor. So, when he graciously agreed to be featured in Teal Star, we were beyond thrilled.

What many do not realize about Bobby is that, while he is hilariously funny on stage, his heart is enormous and he often pours out his feelings in the form of poetry. So, before jumping into his story, we wanted to share Bobby’s words.
