There are numerous individuals or lodges that rent out boats including Phokoje Bush Lodge. Be sure to book your boats when you make your accommodation bookings. I know that Phokoje Bush Lodge provide a better rate should you take along your own trolling motor and batteries. Phokoje does have charging facilities on site, however take your own just in case.

Letsibogo dam is an expansive body of water so know the limitations of your craft and your batteries. You don’t want to get stuck out on the water having to row all the way back to shore.

Fishing Permit

Just like obeying the rules of the road, ensure you have your fishing permits sorted out before hitting the water. The Wildlife department are magical and appear like leprechauns out of thin air. Although they are generally friendly they do not take lightly to people tackling their fish resources without proper permits and will impound your equipment without batting an eyelid or losing sleep over it.

The easiest way to get a fishing permit sorted out is to contact Phokoje Bush Lodge and they will gladly assist with sorting your permits out for you. It saves you the hassles of travelling to the department of water affairs to get your licenses sorted out yourself.

Dam Location
