The Coble – ubiquitous on the East Coast of Great Britain for over 1000 years, we take a look at the design of this unique boat , how and why it evolved the way it did. We’ll also look at how it impacted the people who sailed them to earn a living and continue to do so to this day and their community.

We’ll be travelling to Filey and Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast to speak to fishermen and to look at some amazing restored sailing cobles in Bridlington.
