Villa Sul Mare Ocean Club Estates After purchase, they soon gave birth to a well designed, tropical and understated vacation home. Surrounded by elegant palm trees, this massive 6,000 square foot home, plus an adjoining 3,000 square foot covered al fresco dining area and outdoor space, is perched on 1 acre of pristine water front land at the eastern end of the historic Nassau Harbour; hence its name. Throughout their extensive travelling, Balinese styled villas at the Aman Resorts resonated with them and were subsequently used as the inspiration for Villa Sul Mare. This is where architect Chuck Eldred lent his expertise and brought the couple’s ideas into fruition. He describes Villa Sul Mare as, “a contemporary version of a tropical architecture type, with a strong profile of pitched roofs and deep overhangs to shield the interior from the sun.” The owners were always infatuated with the concept of indoor/outdoor living, “where one could be indoors, but feel like they were outdoors.” After explaining this to Chuck, he was able to design SUMMER 2016 ((0
