After purchase , they soon gave birth to a well designed , tropical and understated vacation home .
Surrounded by elegant palm trees , this massive 6,000 square foot home , plus an adjoining 3,000 square foot covered al fresco dining area and outdoor space , is perched on 1 acre of pristine water front land at the eastern end of the historic Nassau Harbour ; hence its name .
Throughout their extensive travelling , Balinese styled villas at the Aman Resorts resonated with them and were subsequently used as the inspiration for Villa Sul Mare . This is where architect
Chuck Eldred lent his expertise and brought the couple ’ s ideas into fruition . He describes Villa Sul Mare as , “ a contemporary version of a tropical architecture type , with a strong profile of pitched roofs and deep overhangs to shield the interior from the sun .” The owners were always infatuated with the concept of indoor / outdoor living , “ where one could be indoors , but feel like they were outdoors .” After explaining this to Chuck , he was able to design
