Letter from the editor
W
e all have a dream. Mine was to inspire and empower people. I can say was, because I am
no longer living in the past tense. My dream has vanished and I have made it a reality. That
dream is dead to me. It has literally become who I am. I no longer dream. I just do.
Don’t let your dreams just be dreams. Don’t let them be unicorns, an untouchable and mythical beast.
Live them. Be them and make them transpire. I’m almost over the word dream entirely. Yes I have a
dream, you have a dream, we all have dreams. But are they now actions? Or are they simply just a
dream? I challenge you to stand up to those dreams. Look them in the face and show them that you are
what badassery is made of.
Once you accept this challenge, you can’t go back. Badassery is rendering all onlookers stunned. You did
what was once seen as impossible. You are the doer. You are now just downright badass. Being badass
might seem like that unicorn. It really isn’t. If you are reading this, you are already badass. You understand that taking a leap of faith is essential to growing. You know in your soul that you are where you are
suppose to be. You might not have reached the holy grail, but damn straight you are on you way to get
there. Besides that, who even know what the holy grail is. You get to decide! You recognize the courage
inside of yourself. You stood up and said, “YES, I AM READY”. You my friend, are a true badass.
That is literally where Badassery Magazine was born. I
was sick of dreaming and ready to do. I want everyone
who literally reads this publication to understand that
they are not alone. This whole business thing is hard.
Recognize community over competition. Have each others back and have some serious fun in the process.
Thank you to all of the collaborators and thank you for
welcoming all of us into your world. My deepest concern is that this inspires you in the way that every single one of you have inspired me. Move your dreams off
the board and into reality. This is your time and you are
worthy.
