Meet Casey
Making and creativity have been
a part of my life for as long as I
can remember. After completing a degree in architecture and
working in that field for several
years, my creativity had taken a
back seat to the call of the real
world. During the summer of
2011, I moved to Reno, NV from
Columbus, MS with my husband.
There was just one problem: I had no job lined up in
Reno, even after months of searching prior to our move.
The silver lining was that, for the first time in years, I had
time to start making art again while looking for a job.
I listed a few early pieces on an Etsy site, and some sold.
I was hooked. The positive response from family and
friends gave me the courage to keep creating and I decided I wanted to be a creative business owner.
These days, I work on Casey D. Sibley Art + Design full
time, a huge personal goal realized. Over the last couple
of years, the business has evolved so much. I started out
just wanted to create something. Following that urge to
create, sharing my journey with others, and being open
to discovery and change lead me to where I am today.
