untrust ourselves because our
exes told us that we’re crazy or
that we were making shit up.
We’ve fallen out of sync with our
trust center because someone we
trusted, even if just a bit, abused
us while they ripped from us that
which is most sacred-and left us
with their fears, their hate, their
bullshit distrust.
If there is anything that I stress
to my community and to my
clients, it’s to trust themselves.
After all, they put trust in me
and in our fellow members; so
why not put more trust in them-
selves. Why not put more trust
in people, period?
The totally awesome and cliche
thing about ‘learning’ some-
thing? We can ‘unlearn’ things
as well. We aren’t born to hate
and we’re not born to be dis-
trustful. These are things that
we learn because of our past ex-
periences. But what if we could
learn from experiences yet to be
had? There is something that I’ve
learned as I continue on this
path that my heart and soul
KNOW are the right ones for me:
I have this incredible gift to see
the good in people, wherever it
may lurk. I could have taken my
teachings of untrusting myself
and others and spread that like
wildfire across my world. But I
didn’t. I never will. There is good
in me. I trust that.
Unlearning Untrust I leave you with this question:
who do you trust more? Yourself
or the person sitting next to you?
Why? What has that person ever
done for you to make you trust
them so?

Brittany is not only a light worker and shadow sherpa (helping
clients through their inner shadows) but she is the CEO and
Founder of Clearing the Rain, a company whose mission is to
change societal standards around the world, end domestic and
sexual violence against women, and empower the fuck out of
so many women that she eventually runs herself out of busi-
ness. She’s been featured in magazines and blog spots, she’s
interviewed with a handful of outlets, but she’s not done yet.
Her group, Under the Umbrella, is growing all the time with
people who want to change their lives and step into their own
true power. Be on the look out for her non-profit, Clearing the
Rain Foundation soon! When she’s not doing CEO-type things
with her business, she’s riding motorcycle with her hot as fuck
husband, playing with her two rambunctious boys, reading, or
doing artsy stuff. She also enjoys having family movie nights,
digging in the dirt, and does some really amateur photography
work.
