Smell the Flowers
I mean actually smell the flow-
ers! Not just slow things down
like the old expression implies. Do
you have a favorite fragrance that
makes you feel calm? My number
one way to smell the flowers is by
using essential oils. They are creat-
ed from plants and have wonderful
healing properties as well. I like to
put a few drops in my diffuser and
use the fragrance to help me relax,
as a pick me up when I’m tired and
can’t nap, or even to clean the air
of germs and toxins. Lavender is
a great oil to help you get a better
night’s rest.
My daily self-care practice in-
volves a little of all of these things
and it really doesn’t take me long
at all, but I sure feel it when I miss
a day. Having a self-care routine I
enjoy has helped me stay centered
as a mom and it has also helped
improve my adult relationships.
I’m a calmer mama for sure and
I hope some of these things will
help you be a calmer mama too!
Josie Myers helps moms find a place of peace by teaching them how to truly
enjoy their lives through self-care and support without judgment. Too often in
life we get bogged down with outside pressures to be the best mom, the best
wife, or the best business owner. That’s A LOT of pressure and Josie’s here to
tell you, you don’t have to be the best at everything every day.
With a Master’s degree in education and a background in Reiki, Josie is a heal-
er and intuitive guide that helps you tap into your true potential so you can
heal from limiting beliefs and energy blocks. She uses Reiki, BEAM (Bioener-
getic Emotional Access Method), Chakra healing, oracle decks, crystals, yoga,
and essential oils in her practice focusing on what it is she believes will help
you the most.
