SPACE A LITTLE LOVE

It ’ s February , and everyone ’ s thinking relationships , love and Saint Valentine ’ s Day . But when was the last time you showed your { work } space some love ? You know , that space where you spend at least eight hours a day ( on a good day !) envisioning , creating and producing the work that ’ s going to change the world ? Yep , that space .
We ask so much from our { work } space , but what do we give it in return ? Whether you work from your kitchen table or a spacious home office , chances are you sink a whole lot more care and attention into your website , logo and branding than you do the space that houses your bold , beautiful business .

Now is your chance to really show your business how much you love and respect it ! No need for lavish bouquets of roses ( although plants and flowers are a great start !) or huge heart-shaped boxes of chocolates . You can start simply , and inexpensively , with a few easy changes .
Add some greenery . Think of living plants as “ accessories with a cause ” -they reduce stress levels ( and what biz owner can ’ t use more of that ?), purify the air , and look beautiful while they ’ re doing it .
CREATE A WALL OF IN- SPIRATION Pick a wall . Any wall . Then cover it with your favorite ( and inspirational ) images , quotes and artifacts . If it inspires you , it belongs on the wall !
BRING IN SOME SOFTNESS When we think work { space }, we usually think practical , functional and utilitarian . But even a tough-as-nails entrepreneur can use a soft place to land . Layer your office chair with a cozy sheepskin . Pull out some of your favorite throws , and keep them in a basket in the corner , ready to wrap you up in their warmth and comfort . Keep some big , squishy floor pillows nearby as well . You don ’ t have to be confined to working from that uncomfortable office chair all day , after all . A nest of pillows on the floor can be the perfect place to hatch your next business project .
AT YOUR FINGERTIPS Gather up all the books , magazines and any other resources you find yourself referring to on a regular basis . Stack them up near your desk so you always have the knowledge and inspiration you need at your fingertips . Want to get really creative ? Hit your local stationery store for fun papers to recover some of those boring , unattractive book-covers .
