We are living in one of the greatest technological shifts that we ’ ve had in decades and many people are missing out because of cynicism , fear and yes , the curse of instant gratification .
As Gary Vaynerchuck said “ The TV is becoming the radio and the internet and social media platforms are becoming the TV . We need to view each platform such as Facebook , Twitter and Snapchat like TV stations such as CNBC , ABC and FOX .”
Our entire society is online which has shifted how we capture the attention of an audience . The cost of commercials has dropped because TV stations know that the attention is on the phone during a commercial break , and to be honest , we ’ re still on our phones when the TV show is on .
From the way we shop to the way we communicate with people , so much of it has become digital . As a passive income strategist , this excites me . This
55 shift not only means huge growth in ecommerce , but it opens up thousands of ways to create million dollar businesses from the palm of our hands . As I like to say , the power is in our palms . Our entire world is on our phone and now we can also have our business there too ! This is so powerful because it means freedom to so many people who are stuck in a desk job that brings them no joy .
But here is the problem ! I work with many people whose greatest desire is to create an online empire worth millions that they can sell off . This is an entirely possible thing to do ! In fact , it ’ s been done three times over . However , the # 1 cause of failure is instant gratification .
While this digital society is absolutely amazing , we are also apart of a society who gets everything they want , when they want it . You need something delivered ? Great , it can be here by tomorrow . Do you need information for a research paper , simply Google it . From keeping up with our friends to sharing pictures , everything is done in a matter of seconds !
Yet building an ecommerce business that brings you millions of dollars passively , cannot be done in seconds . Because the internet allows us to access so much , so quickly , we expect to yield these same results with our ecommerce stores .
Time and time again I witness people start a store and then shut it down the next day because they didn ’ t make money overnight . We ’ ve seemed to have forgotten that business is business . The same way that you ’ d exhaust every marketing effort on a brick and mortar business , you should be tweaking and working out the details until the store profits .
It ’ s clear that we have to take a step back in our minds before we start these passive income businesses and realize the fact that any business that you want to make millions off of , will never be a business that you put zero effort into .
