Timberlane Country Club is a public golf course with private country club accommodations on the outskirts of New Orleans in Gretna , Louisiana . This golf course is very friendly to its members , offering amenities such as bar and grill , a par 3 golf course as well as the standard par 72 course , disc golf course when it is wet , sand volleyball courts , tennis , yoga classes , and the new fitness center that is opening Feb . 4 to all members .
There are adjusted rates for non-members to play the Par 3 course , certain twilight times , seniors , military and first responder . All prices at all times are very affordable and worth just getting out on the course and playing especially with Tif Eagle Turf greens planted in 2007 .
From the professional tees , it plays over 7,100 yards and from the standard blue tees about 6,700 yards . The oak trees have come out and covered the golf course providing an interesting layout and strategic tee box play . Not only are there trees disrupting shots but of course there are the hazards with 17 water hazards and 80 bunkers that are awaiting after nearly every shot .
Membership prices are inexpensive for the accommodations .
