Cassidy led her high school team ( Academy of the Sacred Heart ) to their first State Runner Up title and she finished 4th in the state as a seventh grader . She was the only middle school golfer to make the All-Metro Team . At the school athletic banquet , she received the Most Valuable player award . Cassidy also won the USSA National Tournament in the 12 -14 age group . On top of that , she is the 2016 Women ’ s Baton Rouge Amateur runner-up . This November , she came in first at the Gulf Shores Junior Classic for the 12-14 age group . Cassidy is one of the top junior golfers in the state and one of the top high school golfers in the state .

Mateo shows leadership with the younger juniors , and they all look up to him . During the Holiday Junior Golf Classic held at Pinewood , instead of seeking an older partner , he teamed with 8-year-old Jack Lawson to finish second . He wins with respect and sportsmanship . During a sudden death playoff in a U . S . Kids Golf Tour event , he lost to Logan Batiste when Logan made a 15-foot putt . Mateo removed his hat and graciously shook hands with Logan . Mateo Jimenez symbolized all that is good with junior golf .
