Holiday Classic at Pinewood Country Club
Peter Hansen and Wondell Smith took home honors as the winners of the Holiday Junior Golf Classic at Pinewood Country Club . Played Dec . 22 , 52 juniors competed on 26 teams for the title .
Three Division One teams had scores of 70 resulting in a three-team playoff : Hansen and Smith , Cassidy Lambert and Reese Drezins ( second place honors ), and Quinn Garcia and Boyd Owens .
Gavin McDermott and Henson Sharpe ( 70 ) were the winners of Division Two , second place honors went to Mateo Jimenez & Jackson Lawson ( 72 ), and third place went to Cohen Jones and Hunter McDermott ( 73 ).
Griffin Dorr and Josie Headrick won closest to the hole contests .
This event began in 2015 as a team best ball holiday event .
“ We use seven sets of tees by age , so it is competitive ,” says Jimmy Headrick . “ This allows players to play together from any age group , plus boys and girls can play together .”
Headrick says the event may be the only one of its kind in the area , and the kids love it .
