$59,300 in KGF Scholarships awarded to Junior Golf Tour members On August 2, 2016, The Kelly Gibson Foundation along with its community charitable partners awarded $59,300 in college scholarships to 26 members of the Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour presented by Nestle Pure Life. Since 2010, 156 scholarships totaling $350,300 have been awarded to junior golfers that participate on the Tour. Scholarships were given to deserving participants based on community service, academic achievements and financial need. Twelve (12) scholarships totaling $22,800 were given on behalf of the Kelly Gibson Foundation. Four (4) $2,500 scholarships were awarded on behalf of the Allstate Sugar Bowl to Savannah Ennis of Abita Springs, Brandon Garcia of Harahan, Ray Poche of Covington, and Taylor Ann Price of Metairie. 30 One (1) $2,500 scholarship was awarded on behalf of McMath Construction to Josie Headrick of Slidell. One (1) $2,000 scholarship was awarded on behalf of Entergy New Orleans to Camille Simon of New Orleans. One (1) $2,000 scholarship was awarded on behalf of Treetop Merit to Madeline Gordon of Kenner. One (1) $1,800 scholarship was awarded on behalf of Angelica’s Angels to Robert Illg of New Orleans. One (1) $1,500 scholarship was awarded on behalf of Bayou Barriere to Troy Leger of Mandeville. Three (3) $1,000 scholarships were given on behalf of Cox Communications to Carlo Carino of Harvey, Stephen Wall of Madisonville and Caroline Hingle of Covington. Four (4) scholarships totaling $15,000 were given on behalf of the Fore!Kids Foundation. Alison Prescott of Patterson was awarded the $5,000 FKF Board Chairman Scholarship; Nolan Lambert of Gretna was awarded the $5,000 FKF Buddy Seeling Scholarship; Emily Pellerin of New Iberia was awarded the $2,500 Zurich Classic Tournament Chairman Scholarship; and Kyle Estay of Larose awarded the $2,500 Zurich Classic Title Sponsor Scholarship. Five (5) scholarships totaling $12,500 were given on behalf of the BC Cup Foundation in memory of Barry Hogan and Colin Headrick. Justin Caldwell of Ponchatoula, Ty Dugas of Gretna, Triston Elston of Baton Rouge, and Colin Troxler of Luling were each awarded $2,500 scholarships. Matthew Saucier of Diamondhead was awarded the $2,500 Gary & Gerry McCool Scholarship. One (1) scholarship in the amount of $2,000 was given on behalf of The Mackel Foundation to Trey Hughes of Covington. Four (4) scholarships totaling $7,000 were given on behalf of the New Orleans Golf Association. Karrington Knight of New Orleans and Wondell Smith Jr. of New Orleans were each awarded a $2,000 Toomy Moore Scholarship. Vincent Almerica of Diamondhead was awarded the $2,000 Clarence Steeg Scholarship. Zachary Barrios of Slidell was awarded the $1,000 Gerald Causin Scholarship. Academy Sports + Outdoors was once again the presenting partner of the 2016 Player of the Year Awards.
