coach; he also helps me with chipping or putting. He not only cares about your technique, but your mental stability and works with a mental health specialist. Golf is more mental. It’s all aspects of the game.” It is in every facet of her life that she wants to excel in as well.   “I want to succeed in everything I do,” said Mary. “I want to do the best I can in school, get to highest level in golf, major in communication, and hopefully I can have a career in broadcasting.” Her golf successes sparked interest from just the right groups of people. “I just started talking to colleges because of my win at the AM and they’re all in the south, so some are close to home,” said Mary. “I’ve gotten a little attention from University of Louisiana at Monroe and Lamar University in Texas. 44 My coach has contacted Furman University in South Carolina and that would be amazing to be able to go there because they are ranked pretty high.” Although Mary hopes to teach golf, there are a few things golf has taught her . “It has definitely taught me patience, just you can’t win unless you put in work and practice,” said Mary. “Last year, I wasn’t as committed to it. Two years ago, I didn’t practice as much and I came out with a win. It kind of spoils you. But it doesn’t work. It doesn’t help. My dad says it’s better if you lose this one because it will teach you a lesson in the end.” Through these lessons learned came victory. She was the 2015 High School Regional Champion, 2015 Division I High School State Champion, 2015 New Orleans Metro Player of the Year and 2016 Division I High School State Champion.   “My hope for Mary is that she follows her dreams and puts forth great effort to see them come true, and remember that God has a plan that is not always in our timeframe,” said Lori. “Always thank and praise God for the beautiful life He has given us.”
