According to Corey Guidry , because it was the first time in this tournament , they had played from the tips , he and Cameron were hoping he would make it into the top 10 . “ Everybody here kept saying , ‘ Next year ’ s gonna be his year to really have a chance .’ Well , he did it a year sooner ,” Corey Guidry said . “ It meant more for me , because he really wanted it .”
Of his favorite experiences he has had while traveling with Cameron to tournaments , Corey Guidry said that one of the best has been when he and his wife met Rudy Duran , who coached a young Tiger Woods .
“ He came up to me and my wife after the tournament and told us how much Cameron reminded him of Tiger when he was that age – how he acted on the course , his demeanor and the way he hit the golf ball ,” Corey Guidry said . “ He took us to lunch the next day at Pinehurst Number Two ’ s clubhouse .”
He said that the other best thing about traveling with Cameron has been the many friends that they have made from different states and countries , and he said that he really appreciates all the help that Cameron gets in his golf career .
