serve as their caddy for the event. “She lights up any room with that million-watt smile of hers,” said Susan. “She is the best person I know.  She loves the Lord, is honest, sincere, compassionate, loving, caring, thoughtful, generous, kind, hardworking, beautiful, a great friend, and talented, yet humble. She is unaware of all she has to offer and how happy she makes you feel just by being around her.” Price would enjoy being around more female counterparts next to her on the courses. “I would love to see women’s golf flourish in New Orleans, in the U.S. and around the world,” said Price. “I hope that so many more women start playing the game of golf. I think golf is the way of life.” With women like Price in the industry, there is hope on the horizon. “Sportsmanship and courtesy is always paramount for Taylor, then a respect for the rules and etiquette of golf, then competition,” said Jeremy Lampo, coach and educator at Haynes Academy. “As an educator, I have a motto: ‘take one step towards me, and I will take two towards you.’ With Taylor Price, I have been kept running. She takes every opportunity that comes her way and gives it one hundred percent. That is not just a cute little saying; that is the honest truth when it comes to Taylor.” Lampo credits Price for starting golf at Haynes. “I ran into her at the St. Rose driving range with her family and agreed to start a golf program at Haynes Academy singularly because of Taylor Price,” said Lampo. “She is simply amazing in everything she does, and she does it the right way: with respect, maturity, integrity, and a positive attitude. She is the exact same way on the golf course.” With a combined 37 awards, achievements and scholarships, her excellence is evident. Some of these include the 2010 Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour Fall Classic: 1st Place, 2011 Kelly Gibson Junior Golf Tour Charlie Knox Award – Sportswoman of the Year, 2012 Kelly Gibson Foundation - Allstate Sugar Bowl - Tommy Moore Memorial Junior Golf Championship Scholarship Award Recipient, 2013 USSSA Mizuno Krewe Klassic Girls 15-18 Champion, 2013 Girls’ District Golf Champion, 2014 Fore! Kids Foundation Board Chairman Scholarship, 2015 Kelly Gibson Foundation - Allstate Sugar Bowl Scholarship Award Recipient. “My hopes for Taylor Ann is that she makes her dreams come true,” said her dad Bobby, Area Director of Operations for YRC Freight. “Her strong workethic and Christian values will position her to be very successful personally and professionally in her life.” Unfortunately, I am comically embarrassed to admit that when I first took this job, I saw it as a way to earn a few more Benjamin Franklins. I also knew it would help my writing, but what I did not know was that I would be taken aback by a world I did not even know existed. To all reading in the golf family, I thank you for being active in a community that transcends a simple sport. It was definitely a joy, honor, and privilege to get to know these ladies. As a woman hearing other women share their dreams, honors and experiences, I find myself very proud of them, not only as fellow female interns, but as women who represent our generation well.
