THE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
This series will comprise the Course Championships, the Baton Rouge Open & Senior Open, the Baton Rouge Amateur & Junior
Amateur and The Players Championship.
THE TRADITION SERIES
This series will comprise the traditional BREC tournaments along with a series of “stroke play” tournaments. These stroke play
tournaments will be 36 holes of stroke play flighted after the first day’s round. These tournaments are the same format as the
former course championship tournaments and will be held at Howell, Webb, City Park, Dumas and Santa Maria golf courses. The
Santa Maria stroke play tournament is the same format and dates as the former Baton Rouge Open. These events will earn Player of
the Year points, just as the Championship Series events will.
THE PLAYERS SERIES
This series will comprise spring, fall and winter groupings of one day, two-player tournaments without flights or food. The
tournament formats will be scramble, better ball, scramble/better-ball* or 27 hole** format. These events will be eligible for Player
of the Year points. Events after the 2016 Players Championship will earn points toward the 2017 Player of the Year.
*Note 1: Scramble/Better-Ball is scramble on the front 9 and better-ball on the back 9
**Note 2: “27 Hole” are 9 holes scramble, 9 holes better-ball, and 9 holes alternate shot
