CGF ministry challenges golfers and coaches alike
For college golfers, one of the biggest honors is
meeting someone who is so accomplished in the sport
that he has the mansion, millions of dollars and trophies
to prove it. For these students in the College Golf
Fellowship, even more thrilling is being able to stay in
the homes of these legends and learn more about their
faith.
The people of CGF minister to young golfers all
across the U.S.. Though the ministry is widespread
now, like most organizations and the people in them,
they started with more humble beginnings.
It began in 1980 when several Professional Golfers
Association tour guides were in the PGA Tour Bible
Study group and invited several college golfers to attend
the Western Open, a golf tournament in Chicago.
A year later, two businessmen helped start the first
banquet that was held for the NCAA Championship
in Fresno, California. It was here that PGA Tour golfer
