It’s Christmas in September! Jake got his
new clubs from Taylormade and I’m getting the
“brand new, hand-me-down” PSI Taylormade
irons (his old irons).
Jake was recently making a snarky comment
about getting new clubs, and I mentioned to
him that it meant I was also getting new clubs.
He all of a sudden realized what I was saying
and wanted to withhold the clubs from me
because I made a snarky comment of my own.
He eventually decided I could get his old clubs,
and everyone is happy now.
But he won’t give them up. They’re leaning
against the fireplace, doing nothing, and he
won’t give them up. This, my friends, is a man
soap opera showdown. I’ll let you know what
happens next.
In other news, SLU fall golf is about to start
up, and I am excited to see what the team has
to offer this year. I enjoy making the trip to
tournaments and walking with the team, and I
also believe that the guys enjoy having a younger
familiar face walking around with them.
I don’t normally play with them, but when I
get the chance to, I jump all over it. It never fails
to gain some sort of knowledge while playing
with people that talented. It’s impressive seeing
what those guys can do with the golf ball, and I
am expecting a great year from them.
Speaking of SLU, school stinks. I enjoyed the
summer, even with an internship. I thought I
was going to like going back to school because
it is my last year, but just like the other 18 years
of school in my life, it stinks. I have a bad case
of senioritis. I find myself wanting to go back
to being 15 years old many days in class when I
had 1-2 hours of homework a week and played
video games for countless hours afterward.
I will be hitting immense amounts of range
balls whe school is over and I can set myself into
a routine. That is one thing I have lacked up to
this point in my life. I am in the transition stage
from college to the real world and hope to come
out on top. Mom won’t let me fall anyway, she is
always keeping me on my toes.
Have you been watching golf ? Justin Thomas
is quickly becoming one of my favorite players.
He just captured his fifth win of the season and
has his eyes on the FedEx Cup. The accumulation
of young talent and their friendships make the
game more than just a game.
My favorite times are playing with my best
friends... on the other team. The competition
heated up especially in baseball – being the
batter and facing the pitcher I’ve longed to face.
Competition and fun keeps the game
interesting for kids across all sports. Justin
Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Justin Spieth and
Smylie Kaufman are a great group of guys who
are only improving the game because of their
friendship and displaying it across social media.
