at -1 (143). Johnathon Ellis, also of
Baton Rouge, took second place with
a score of 151. Tanner McKenzie, of
Franklinton, finished in third place by
shooting 161.
Meanwhile, Webb was steady and
consistent in the Boys 12-14 event.
Webb, of Shreveport, shot an even
144 to win the title in the intermediate
division, besting runner-up Jace
LeJeune, of Jennings, by six shots. Luke
Haskew, of Baton Rouge, played an
outstanding second round to leapfrog
two other competitors and claim third
place with a total of 151.
Alston Manne, the son of CCLA’s
head pro, took home top honors in the
Boys 9-11. Manne, of Baton Rouge,
recorded 13 pars in the 18-hole event,
winning the beginner’s division title with
a score of 79. Henson Sharpe, an eight-
year- old from Hattiesburg, Mississippi,
finished in second place in his USSSA
Tour debut, shooting 89. Christopher
Cain, of Lafayette, finished in third
place with a total of 93.
Sophia Macias, of Denham Springs,
won the Girls 9-11 event by shooting
115.
The Mizuno USSSA Louisiana
Tour will experience a first at its next
event. The Back-2- School 4-Ball event
will be the first-ever team event hosted
by the organization. Individual honors
will also be awarded. Back-2-School
will take place Sept. 16-17 at Les Vieux
Chênes in Youngsville. To register or
