Lum sets tourney record with a 69
cruises to 2nd Mississippi Lefties title

Madison, Mississippi- Stephen Lum of Madison opened up the
2017 Mississippi Lefties with a tournament record 3 under 69 at
Lake Caroline Golf Club on Saturday and held on for a five shot
victory to claim his second state lefty title on Sunday, October 1st,
2017.
Lum, who won his first lefty title in 2015, shot 69-79 to finish
with a total of 148. He finished five shots better than Ben Mobley
of Clinton (153) who posted the low round of the tournament on
Sunday, shooting a 4 over 76. John Brasher of Silverhill, AL finished
in third. Brasher won the inaugural Mississippi Lefties event in 2012.
Playing in his first Mississippi Lefties event, Toby McCarty of
Madison won the senior title by eight shots. McCarty finished 77-81
(158) to finish ahead of Frank Dominick of Jackson, LA.
In its sixth year, this was the second time the tournament has been
played at Lake Caroline Golf Club in Madison. In 2012, the tourney
was played at Lake Caroline and Patrick Farms. Both courses are
part of the Randy Watkins Golf Group.
