On Friday and Saturday , several local schools , that participate in The First Tee ’ s National School Program , took field trips to the Zurich Classic . The schools , including Coghill Charter School , Gentilly Terrace Charter School , Carver Collegiate Academy , and Cherbonnier / Rillieux Elementary , received guided tours of the facilities , attended the Children ’ s Hospital Kid ’ s Zone and watched the PGA TOUR professionals compete in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the Zurich Classic .
Chris Berman , Saint ’ s Head Coach , Sean Payton , Saint ’ s Running Back , Mark Ingram and LPGA Tour superstar , Lexi Thompson . Logan Batiste , 13-year-old First Tee participant , served as a caddie during the event .
On Wednesday during the Pro-Am , First Tee participants offered up their services as caddies on the 3rd hole . Many of the professionals gave the kids who served as caddies autographed gloves , golf balls , towels , club head covers and words of wisdom . In addition to the PGA Tour pros , the youth also caddied for Payton , Berman , and Saint ’ s Quarterback , Drew Brees , who also played in the Pro-Am .
Two First Tee teens also took part in the Junior Course Reporter Program during the Wednesday- Saturday rounds of golf . In partnership with the PGA TOUR and the Fore ! Kids Foundation , the teens covered the golf tournament from their perspective . The PGA TOUR provided media credentials to the teens who covered a wide variety of media involved with the tournament , including TV , radio , print and social media coverage of the Zurich .
