Blixt and Smith Outlast Kisner and Brown

Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith took the title at the first team PGA tour event in 36 years over Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown in playoff style . There were four holes played on playoff Monday . Both teams made pars on the first three , missing a few putts that could have ended the playoff earlier , but Cameron Smith put one to two feet to seal the deal and win his first PGA tour event with a birdie on the fourth playoff hole .
The fairy tale ending for Cameron Smith was a wonderful sight to see . He was overwhelmed in emotion in his post round interview when asked what it meant to him have a 2 year exemption on the PGA Tour . He is only 23 years old and has been battling on the PGA Tour and finally feels relieved to capture his first win .
The 2017 Zurich Classic had a field of superstars
who were competing in this team event for the first year at TPC of Louisiana . Some teams thrived while others struggled in the four ball and alternate shot format .
Rickie Fowler paired up with Jason Day and didn ’ t make the cut ( -7 ) shooting only -5 after the first two days . Another pairing of Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson also missed the cut , posting a -6 par shooting . Others thrive including Bubba Watson paired with J . B . Holmes and Jordan Spieth paired with Ryan Palmer .
The weather was perfect all weekend , with a breeze of about 15 miles per hour and remaining between 70 and 80 degrees until Sunday morning . The torrential rain delayed the start of the round , and Kevin Kisner drained a 30 yard chip to extend the round to Monday because of the darkness .
