narromindedjr By Shayne Narro I have been losing my mind not being able to step out to the golf course. Fortunately it is because of very good reasons and other options have presented themselves. My family and I went on a cruise to Costa Maya and Cozumel Mexico. Also, I received my first full time internship with a safety services company in Baton Rouge. I am busy and still find time to pick up a club in my living room to swing it around and keep the feeling in my body to have whenever I take it back to the first hole of the unfortunate golf course that I decide to play that day because of my limited practice time. Even on the cruise ship, as a family, we picked up some putters and played the mini golf course on the boat. This mini golf course was small, but I felt as if I was playing on a California next to the Pacific Ocean because of the high winds as the boat cruised across the water. Wow, the ball would not stay still, and I could not even make it stay still without using my foot to hold it still and release it just as I was coming through with my forward swing. Jake, Aaron (my soon to be brother-in- law), and I unfortunately could not tote our clubs to the Caribbean to get a round in, but we were very competitive on the mini golf course. It gave us another aspect to the cruise that this small form of competition could be extremely fun for hours on the cruise. Our family just became members at Oak Knoll Country Club, and with this new internship opportunity, I look to play more golf on the weekends with Jake and get a little more instruction to improve my game. My current goal is to consistently break 80. I’ve done it a few times, but I really want to take my game and make everything more consistent. I get that heartsick feeling when I lose that one shot out of bounds a round and shoot an 81 instead of a 79. Shayne e 29
