2018 JUNIOR AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP
July 11-13, 2018

ENTRY DEADLINE/APPLICATIONS: All entrants must file an entry by 5 PM,
Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Entries must be filed online, via mail, or delivery to LGA
office. Online entry applications can be completed at www.LGAgolf.org. NOTE:
Entry deadline is July 3, 2018, 5 PM, or until full field is reached before July 3.
Juniors are cautioned that the event could fill up before July 3. Time limit for
entries means time of receipt at LGA office (not time entry is sent to LGA). Entries
should be submitted early to allow ample time for delay or error in transmission.
The risk of delay or error in transmission lies solely with the entrant and the LGA
shall have no liability with respect to any such delay or error and the consequences
therefrom, including rejection of the entry. Late or incomplete applications are
not acceptable. Entries by FAX or telephone are not acceptable. Entry fee must
accompany application for application to be considered complete.
ELIGIBILITY: Entries are open to any male, Louisiana resident (as of at least
90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the
USGA) and is a member of a LGA Member Club in good standing (201 8 club and
individual dues must be paid). Entrants must be 10 years of age by midnight,
July 11, 2018, and cannot have reached their 19th birthday by midnight, July
13, 2018. Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any
time (including during the championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may
include unbecoming conduct.
FIELD: Limited to the first 160 entries. Participants must choose to enter the
appropriate Age-Group Championship (36 holes tournament play, 7/11-12) OR
the Overall Championship (54 holes tournament play, 7/11-13). Groupings for
Age-Group Championships will be 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15 unless entry numbers
dictate otherwise.
ENTRIES: Fee, Withdrawal/Refunds. Entry fee of $100. Entry fee will be
refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the
close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event
of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement)
reaches LGA office by July 10, 2018. A $20 service charge will be deducted from
all refunds. Pairings and starting times for the first round of play will be emailed to
participants and posted at the Host Club, East Ridge CC, Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each Age-Group
Championship (36 holes). Overall Championship will be divided into a minimum of
2 flights and top three finishers in each flight will receive prizes (54 holes). The
Junior Amateur Champion is extended an invitation to participate in the 2018 Junior
River Cup Matches and gains full exempt status with the AJGA. Top 15 finishers
receive AJGA performance stars. Top 5 finishers are exempt into 2019 LGA Amateur.
RULES: Play will be governed by the current Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play
Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision
will be final. Automotive transportation (carts) and/or caddies will not
be permitted.
DRESS CODE, PERSONAL APPEARANCE, ETC.: Competitors must be neat in
appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, cutoffs, blue jeans, tee
shirts, etc. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Use of cell phones is prohibited on
course during competition. Important Note: East Ridge CC is a spikeless facility
and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes.
PRACTICE PRIVILEGES: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the
Championship at East Ridge CC on July 10.
