Champion, Abbey Daniel of
Covington, qualified Monday,
July 2 for the 118th U.S. Women’s
Amateur Championship to be
played at The Golf Club of
Tennessee, Aug. 6-12.
Seventeen-year-old Daniel’s
71 tied for third of six players
successfully qualifying at the
Sweetwater Country Club
(Cypress Course), Sugarland
Texas site.
This is another stellar addition
to Daniel’s 2018 golf resume,
which also includes tying for
Medalist honors with 68 at the
U.S. Girls Junior qualifier June
17 at the Birck Boilermaker
Golf Complex, West Lafayette,
Indiana. The 70th U.S. Girls
Junior will be played at Poppy
Hills Golf Course, Pebble
Beach, California, July 16-21.
