VEGAS

I take from that is if you believe you ’ re going to make a good putt you have a great chance of actually hitting one .

After warming up on a immaculate driving range and short game area , my starting hole was the beautiful par three 17th . Measuring 152 yards , the hole was playing less due to a significant elevation drop . My blood was pumping as I was first to hit .
A small pond fronts the narrow green with a massive waterfall behind the green that cascades into a creek . My solid wedge landed in the perfect spot on the slope at the back of the green and spun back to 15 feet . I wasn ’ t that upset when my birdie try slipped over the edge as a rock solid par to start settled me into my round . A par at the beautiful par five 18th had me feeling good as I got to the first tee ready to play .
A poor drive at the par four second resulted in a bogey but six straight pars afterward lead me to the tough 9th hole . My drive was a bit cautious due to the creek that runs along the entire left side of the hole left me in the right rough . From there , I holed an 8-iron for an eagle two which took my adrenaline up more than a couple of notches . I ’ m now oneunder with seven holes left to play and ready to make my move .
After missing a close birdie on number one , I proceeded to bogey four of my last six holes to post three-over par 75 . I was disappointed in my finish as I was hitting the ball nicely , but the $ 1,500 skin I got for my hole out on number nine soothed the pain .
The Tom Fazio design may be the best conditioned course I ’ ve ever played . An unlimited budget and very little play results in perfect rolling greens . The approaches around the greens roll at about a nine on the stimpmeter , and the tee boxes are even nicer . The firm but not hard fairways produce perfect lies , and the rough is evenly cut to two inches throughout the course . As we know , Las Vegas is in the desert , but you wouldn ’ t know it playing Shadow Creek . The golf course is lush green and who knows how many trees have been planted to give it more of a down south feel ?
I highly recommend experiencing the five star service and amenities should you be in sin city . To get on , you must be staying at an MGM property , and the green fee is extremely steep . However , isn ’ t that what ’ s it ’ s all about in Vegas ?
