Gulf States PGA Sections select officers
The members of the Louisiana and Mississippi
Chapters of the Gulf States PGA have elected a new
slate of officers to serve their respective Chapters.
Jake Narro, PGA Head Golf Coach at Southeastern
Louisiana University in Hammond, was elected as the
next president of the Louisiana Chapter. Narro previously
served as the Chapter’s Secretary.
The Louisiana Chapter welcomes Bobby Jacks, PGA
Head Professional of Baton Rouge Country Club, to
serve as Vice President.
“I am honored to be elected the Louisiana Chapter
Vice President,” said Jacks. “Being elected by my peers is
humbling and I look forward to serving our Chapter and
Section.”
Robbie Gueringer III, PGA Head Professional of
OakWing Golf Club in Alexandria, is also a new elect
and was chosen by the membership as Louisiana Chapter
Secretary.
“I am thankful that the gentlemen in that room thought
enough of me to elect me as secretary,” said Gueringer. “I
am eager to continue the wonderful work that the Gulf
States PGA Section provides to its members. The next 2
years will be an exciting time in our Section and I look
forward to being part of it.”
Craig Campo, PGA General Manager of OakWing
Golf Club, assumes the role as Honorary President of the
Louisiana Chapter.
Olly Thomson, PGA General Manager of the Country
Club of Canton (Miss.), will succeed Tim Basel, PGA
Head Professional of Reunion Golf & Country Club in
Madison, Miss., as President of the Mississippi Chapter.
Basel will serve as Honorary President.
Moving into position as the Chapter’s Vice President
is Matt Brunetz, PGA Sales Representative with Ladd’s
Golf & Utility Vehicles in Canton, Miss.
The Mississippi Chapter membership elected Billy
Pomeroy, PGA Head Professional at Northwood Country
Club in Meredian, Miss., as the Chapter’s next Secretary.
“It is an honor to be selected to serve the PGA
Professionals within the Mississippi Chapter of the Gulf
States Section,” said Pomeroy. “I look forward to assisting
our wonderful Section staff and leadership in growing
the game of golf and improving the lives of our PGA
Members and Apprentices.”
All Chapter officers will serve in these roles from
January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019.
