MJGA Girl’s Division D Player of the Year Harper Anne Hinckley - McComb, MS Harper Anne Hinkley claims her first Player of the Year honor as a young competitor on the BankPlus Friends of Junior Golf Tour. In her 2017 MJGA Season, she took home the hardware at the Pros of Tomorrow at the Tupelo Country Club in July. Through her seven other Junior Championships where she was runner-up in two and had five other top-5 finishes, Hinkley secured the Player of the Year title and also received an invitation to participate in the BankPlus Sanderson Farms Junior Pro-Am at the end of the season. She will continue to compete in the BankPlus Friends of Junior Golf Tour. MJGA Boy’s Division D Player of the Year Jacob Blanton - West Point, MS Jacob Blanton secures his first Player of the Year honor with this title. Blanton had an outstanding 2017 MJGA Season, claiming four victories over the summer at these championships: Boys Junior Amateur, Greenwood Junior, Randy Watkins Junior and the Future Tour Championship. The only tournament Blanton did not win was actually a tie for first place at the Pros of Tomorrow. This tie was broken by a hole- by-hole playoff where he then finished as runner- up. Blanton also joined the Junior River Cup Team in Louisiana and was a participant in the BankPlus Sanderson Farms Junior Pro-Am. 44 MJGA Girl’s Division E Player of the Year Allie Myers - Pearl, MS Allie Myers is now a two-time Girl’s Division E Player of the Year. Allie finished with victories in the Mississippi Girls Junior Amateur, Trusted Choice Big I Qualifier, 2016 Randy Watkins Junior Championship, Mississippi State Games Championship and the Future Tour Championship. Finishing in first place in every tournament played, what a true accomplishment for this young lady. Myers has been with the MJGA for three years now after her start at the age of seven in 2015. Prior to this, she was a member of the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Jackson chapter. MJGA Boy’s Division E Player of the Year John Markow - Jackson, MS John Markow is a first time recipient of the Player of the Year honor. He rose to the top of the standings with titles at the 2016 Randy Watkins Junior at Lake Caroline GC and the 2017 Big I National Qualifier at Patrick Farms GC. These championships, along with two other top-5 finishes, secured the Player of the Year honor for Markow. He was also awarded a place at this year’s BankPlus Sanderson Farms Junior Pro-Am at the Sanderson Farms Championship. u
