USGA forms new partnership with
LGA, MGA & regional golf associations
The LGA and MGA have entered into a
new relationship with the United States Golf
Association, becoming one of 59 regional golf
associations throughout the country named as new
Allied Golf Associations (AGAs). The partnership
aims to enhance the golfer experience at the state
and local levels in the United States.
“We are honored and excited to begin a more
formalized partnership with the USGA,” said
LGA Executive Director, Logan Ray. “This will
be a win for not only our organization and the
USGA, but most importantly, for all golfers in
Louisiana and across the country. We look forward
to providing even more value added benefits to
our members and member clubs as a result of this
partnership. We will continue to evolve together
and progress the game of golf and serve its best
interests.”
As an AGA, the LGA will continue to administer
the USGA Handicap and Course Rating Systems
within its defined geographic area, the entire
state of Louisiana. Additionally, it will serve as
the region’s primary resource for USGA services
such as championship qualifiers, governance, golf
facility support, and programs that help grow and
improve the long-term health of the game.
“We are excited to have a new partnership
with the USGA,” said MGA Executive Director,
Margo Coleman. “We are honored to be one of
59 AGAs
