PGA’s Wayne Fuselier and son James
win PING/Sterling Cut Glass Pro-Scratch
METAIRIE, LA. – The PING/Sterling Cut Glass
Pro-Scratch named its Team Champions for 2017
at Audubon Park Golf Club on Monday, November
13th.
This event has a unique format that involves one
PGA Professional and one Amateur playing six holes
scramble, six holes four-ball, and six holes alternate
shot. The weather was perfect with sunny skies,
temperatures in the low seventies, and low humidity.
Out of a record twenty-two teams totaling forty-
four players, this year’s winners were PGA Professional
Wayne Fuselier of Chateau Golf and Country Club
and Amateur James Fuselier. The father son duo shot
six under par fifty-six and won in a scorecard playoff
over Team Vegas/Gottsche.
Closest to the Hole winners were PGA Life Member
Larry Miller of Mandeville, LA and Amateur Scott
Thames of Laurel, MS.
The Gulf States PGA Section would like to thank
James Fuselier of PING and Sterling Cut Glass for
their continued support of the event. The Section also
wishes to thank the Staff at Audubon Park Golf Club
including the Host PGA Professional Paul VanGeffen
and the Head Golf Course Superintendent Will
Guerreri for their assistance in making this event
