At the beginning of November, I took a
trip to see my girlfriend’s family because it
was her grandma’s birthday. Of course, I
took the opportunity to play golf with her
dad as we always do.
We actually played our best round of
golf together combining to shoot an even
par 72 between us in a scramble. We played
with two of his friends, and there was great
camaraderie around the golf course. There
is just a different feeling playing when there
are supportive players around you.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t make any putts,
but I felt great swinging my new irons. I hit
13 greens myself and only made two birdies.
Gut wrenching statistics, but that means
I am hitting it solid and straight, which is
normally my weakness.
The biggest transition in my bag was
from the R15 to the M1 driver. The shaft
is so much lighter than the R15. It took me

8 holes to start hitting it straight, but wow,
once I did, the M1 was going another 5-10
yards further than the R15. I am in search
of another putter though, I just really do not
like the feel standing over the golf ball with
the new Ghost putter that I’ve been using.
Might be time to go back to the old faithful
Ping putter that I’ve been using for years.
I shot an 80 with my buddy Mason the
day after Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful
day and great round of golf. We got it in
right before the sun went down after teeing
off around three o’clock.
I always find a couple days in December
that have beautiful forecasts for the day. I
am looking forward to the next few beautiful
days to get out and keep testing the new set.
