A little follow up on how the tournament
went in Der Ridder, Louisiana: The tournament
went well, for the most par. I enjoyed a great
meal after a pretty solid round of 74 with my
girlfriend’s dad, Mr. Jay.
There was a Calcutta that night for gambling,
and I was pointed out for being the “famous”
Jake Narro’s son, so our team was auctioned
a bit higher. Nevertheless, we had to play the
next day, and we didn’t play as well as we would
have liked, shooting a 77 and not being able to
place in our bracket. A few highlights of the
tournament were hitting the flagstick on the
same hole back-to-back days, nearly making a
hole in one, Mr. Jay’s putting in the first round,
and being able to birdie our last hole of the
tournament the second day.
The weather has been my worst enemy
recently trying to get out on the golf course.
I just picked up a job that has taken up a bit
more of my time the past couple of weeks, and
I want to go play golf on the weekends, but it
has turned into me sitting on the couch playing
video games and watching Netflix with my
friends.
I’m ready for the sunshine and 75-degree
weather in the fall without all of the afternoon
showers and big bands of rain.
My next plan is to play as many rounds of
golf with Jake as I can, even though he picks
his buddies over me every time (insert rolling
eyes emoji). It’s okay though, I’m just a kid and
not cool enough to hang out with the boys yet,
I understand. He’s not cool enough to hang out
with my friends either.
When school starts back, my schedule opens
up a bit, and I plan on stretching, working out,
and playing a lot more golf. I’m starting to feel
the world’s pressure on me now that I am sort
of a big kid. I only have two more semesters of
school, and then I’m in the real world.
Mom has done a good job on preparing me
so it shouldn’t be too tough of a transition. It’s
almost time to hit the books, so hit the links
whenever you can before school gets back
in session and you either have to go or take
someone there!
