Boudreaux wins Cajun Classic championship by Ian Auzenne

The competition in the Boys 12-14 division at the Mizuno USSSA Cajun Classic was as hot and heavy as the mid-summer temperatures that swamped Oakbourne Country Club Tuesday and Wednesday .
Five golfers entered the day with legitimate opportunities to take home the regional championship in the intermediate division . At the end of the second day , tour regular Ryan Dupuis emerged victorious . The Baton Rouge resident shot 154 to take home the tournament title , besting fellow tour veteran Jay Mendell , of Lafayette , by one shot . Another familiar face on the tour , Canon Clark , also of Lafayette , finished two shots behind Dupuis to take third place .
Michael Boudreaux , of Breaux Bridge , won the championship in the Boys 15-18 division by shooting 180 . Alex Sylvester , of Lafayette , finished in second place with a final of 207 . Bradley Boudreaux , of Breaux Bridge , took third place by shooting 211 .
Christopher Cain , of Lafayette , took top honors in the 18-hole Boys 9-11 event by shooting 87 . Runner-up Luke Baudoin , of Rayne , shot 90 . Jacques Fontenot , of Youngsville , finished in third place by shooting 106 .
