“The stunt guy did my jumps,” he said.
“And I did his dialogue. It worked out well.”
Schneider has been preparing to make
the jump, speaking to experts about the
speed necessary to get the car in the air and
land safely.
“I’m a little nervous,” he said. “But I will
finally be able to say I jumped the General
Lee.”
This event will give Schneider a chance
to show off the many stages and sets
available at the studio and the professional
equipment, massive wardrobe collection
and prop availability.
“We want independent film makers to
have everything they need when they show
up,” he said.
Schneider explained that bigger studios
rent out empty space for filming. These
empty spaces are expensive and don’t
include any scenery or set design. His hope
is that directors see John Schneider Studios
as an opportunity to overcome massive
expense as well as explore creativity.
Dogs Dixie, Gumbo, Stormy, Gravy and,
of course, Duke will welcome guests to John
Schneider Studios for Bo’s Extravaganza.,
and special guests include the cast of “The
Dukes of Hazard” and NASCAR legend
Carl Edward. Kix Brooks, Jo-el Sonnier,
32
Thom Bresch, Merle Travis Center Pickers
and The Copper Chiefs will perform.
Schneider also welcomes mud riding
form those with appropriate trucks. Those
who don’t have trucks but have awesome
cars and General Lee’s are welcome to
participate in the car show. At press time
for Backspin, there were 108 General Lee
cars registered for the event.
With 75,000 square-feet of combined
under roof space, there will be plenty to
explore. Bo’s Extravaganza tickets are on
sale now at johnschneiderstudios.com.
There is a golf only option for the event.
With lunch and celebrity golf, Schneider
will join Kix Brooks, Byron Cherry, Cody
McCarver, Tony Justice and Livingston
Parish Sheriff Jason Ard to raise money for
musicians who hit hard times.
“This organization is really special to
me,” Schneider said. “After the flood,
they called and asked about musicians in
the area and cut checks to help them get
back on their feet. It was quick, and it was
needed.”
