Teams will play 7 matches overall, 9 holes in the morning and 9 in the afternoon. Awards will be given out following the afternoon match on June 21; parents and family are invited to attend. Following the last match, the All-Star team will be announced and will be eligible to compete in the Gulf States Championship. Registration Open: February 12; Orientation: Parent Orientation will be held during the week of February 12-16 beginning at 6 p.m. Camp orientation for parents and juniors will be 11 a.m. on May 19 at Santa Maria and Camp Prep at Santa Maria for 9:30 p.m. on May 25. about rules, strategy and course management, and incorporating more advanced skills necessary to compete on a higher level. Juniors will need to operate with a given level of independence, capable of managing their own equipment, able to walk and keep up with an understanding of safety and courtesy. Parents are invited to attend if they wish to attend as spectators, but it is not mandatory. Managed by a PGA Professional and staff. Juniors permitted to bring snacks, refreshments, and lunches. Mon at Santa Maria Golf Course, Tues at Beaver Creek Golf Course, Thurs at Webb Memorial Golf Course, Fri at Dumas Memorial Golf Course. 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Fee: $200; payable to BREC. Includes orientation, range balls, green fees, uniform shirt and cap, and awards. Ages: 13-18; Limited to a size of 24. A program designed for teens interested in playing in more competitive events and for their high school golf team (and possibly college team), this is not necessarily for players who already compete in regional or national events. The camp is not set up to teach juniors how to play golf (see The First Tee). Players will learn how to practice and play in competitive style events; gaining greater knowledge Family Golf Leagues This program is designed for Families with boys and girls ages 6-17 (there will be two divisions: adults with juniors ages 6-11; and ages 12-17). There will be clinics and on-course training provided, but for better results, it is recommended that parents obtain instruction for themselves in First Swing Clinics and for their juniors within The First Tee during the Spring. Family members will be assigned specific tee markers from which to play at Webb and City Park Golf Course. Three formats for play will be followed: scramble, modified alternate shot, and better ball. Family members include an adult related or within a household with a junior ages 6-17. There will be league play and a championship round; the intended purpose is to create an interest in developing a larger and regular on-going league. In June and July junior and adult special pricing will be in effect; 14 check with Pro Shop during the summer. Events: July 6 – Golf Clinic at Webb Memorial Golf Course at 6 p.m. July 7 – Short Game Clinic at City Park Golf Course at 6 p.m. July 17 – On-course instruction at Webb Golf Course (families with juniors ages 12-17) with tee times beginning at 5 p.m. July 19 – On-course instruction at City Park Golf Course (families with juniors ages 6-11) with tee times beginning at 5 p.m. Play day beginning with tee times at 8 a.m. at City Park for all age groups.
