BRINGING IN SUMMER WITH A SPONTANEOUS ROADTRIP
DESERT ESCAPADE
A bunch of us mamas here at Babiekins were giving a nod to
the old days of being footloose and fancy-free when it came to
weekends. No stress -- no kids! -- just adventure, and the great
unknown. And then it hit us. Why on earth do we have to give that
up just because we have littles? With a little bit of prep, adding
the kiddos to the mix shakes up to be the perfect poolside libation
Here’s a peek into how we did it.
STEP OUTSIDE THE BOX!
...the location box, that is. Take a break from your (likely over-
scheduled) weekend plans and pack it up! We did just this recently,
for the ultimate weekend getaway. It’s been unseasonably gloomy
and rainy here in Southern California, so we took inspiration from
the bright colors and sunshine of Palm Springs. We packed up
a few of our favorite snacks, some decor inspired by the bright
palette of Palm Springs itself, made a killer playlist and hit the road.

Enroute to the Springs of Palm, we took the opportunity to show
the kids Joshua Tree National Park. To keep them interested, we
had a nature scavenger hunt, climbed rocks and trampled through
the #superbloom currently happening in the poppy fields.
