Page 5 of 18 Primary News March 2016 Free Fruit Currently P1 and P2 pupils have access to free fruit a number of times throughout the week. As free school meals for P1-3 pupils regularly have a fruit option, it has been decided that free fruit will no longer be offered as of August 2016. Time2Play April Holiday Events Childline In February, P6 and P7 pupils from Breadalbane, Glenlyon and Kinloch Rannoch learnt about Keeping Safe from the NSPCC. Through a presentation and subsequent workshop pupils learnt about different types of abuse as well as how to seek help from different sources. Open Sessions Open Days On the first Friday of the month parents and carers are welcomed into our Primary department at 3pm in order for pupils to show and talk about the learning they have undertaken. As the 1st of April is the last day of term the April open session will be on the 22nd of April. Perth and Kinross Council's Childcare Strategy Team will be running free play events across Perth and Kinross over the Easter holidays. Sessions will run from 10am-12 noon and then again from 1pm-3pm each day. These are open to families with children of all ages and will include a variety of play activities. There is no need to book, families are encouraged to come along and join in the fun. Parents and carers will remain responsible for their children at all times whilst joining in with the free activities. The team will be visiting on the following dates:  Mondays 4th & 11th April: North Inch, Perth  Tuesdays 5th & 12th April: Community Park, High Street, Rattray  Wednesdays 6th & 13th April: Victoria Park, Aberfeldy  Thursdays 7th & 14th April: Kirkgate Park, Kinross  Fridays 8th & 15th April: Scone Park, Stormont Road, Scone  More information is available on www.pkc.gov.uk/families Sock Event On 21st of March, pupils in the Breakfast Club participated in the Lots of Socks event, fundraising for Downs Syndrome Scotland. Pupils paid a pound to wear odd or interesting socks. Some pupils were very imaginative with their sock wearing, ranging from sock gloves to hair accessories. During breakfast club there was face painting with socks, pin the sock on the person and special sock biscuits.
