Sociology and Psychology GCSE Psychology Year 9 have made an excellent start to the GCSE Psychology course. They are currently working on the unit entitled ‘development’, where they look at factors that can influence how we develop as individuals and the barriers to development. They have studied the work of famous psychologists such as Piaget and Dweck, and applied the results to the educational setting which they are currently in. Year 11 are moving towards the end of their GCSE Psychology course having just finished looking at the impact of TV and video games on aggressive behaviour. They have used real life case studies and theories by some of the great psychologists such as Albert Bandura, this has been a topic that has really fascinated them. They will soon be studying what creates a phobia, and how these can be both exacerbated and treated, an interesting topic I am sure you will agree!
