HOUSE POINTS COMPETITION MEDIA & FILM STUDIES 6562 This term has been an incredibly busy one with the controlled assessment tasks being completed prior to submission at the start of May. We have seen some truly exceptional projects completed in both Media and Film Studies, which will hopefully result in some good exam grades in August. Students need to make sure that they keep revising before their exams! Mr Owen will be providing revision materials to students before half term to make sure that they are prepared for June. PHOENIX 6596 GARRICK 6643 FORTUNE Apollo 7265 Current Half-Term It is also that time of year when we look forward to our visit to London. This year, for the first time, the trip is available to students from a range of year groups and students will take part in workshops and sessions led by industry professionals. It is a really great opportunity to see how everything works within the Media and Film Industries. PHOENIX HOUSE SPLASH days allow students to participate in exciting activities that are outside the main curriculum and develop a completely different skill set to a normal school day. Recently 170 Phoenix students from Years 7-9 went on a trip to Coombe Abbey for the day. They took part in den building and bushcraft activities that included lighting fires and toasting marshmallows. Students worked in small groups of different ages and abilities, and had to get to know other each other quickly, in order to work successfully as a group. Some of the feedback comments were: “I got to know other students in my house that I had not met before” “ Den building was the best” “ It was a really good day”
