Apollo House News and hard work in lessons. PE ran a World Cup House competition last week and there were some great results for Apollo House! Our Year 7 students came first, ahead of Garrick, Phoenix and Fortune, our Years 8 and 9 students both came second. This is very promising ahead of Sports day, which will take place on Wednesday 18th July. We will be defending our title from last year! There are now less than 4 weeks to go before the summer holidays and I am very pleased with how the year has gone for Apollo House. Students from 11JSM and 11LWE finished their exams last week and I look forward to seeing most of them again at the Prom. I wish them all the best for the future. The vast majority of students in Apollo have been working very hard this year and there are two major events coming up to celebrate this: Awards Evening next week, to acknowledge the high academic achievement from some of our students throughout the year, and the Gold Book assemblies in the last week of term, to acknowledge some of out students’ great effort Finally, well done to Year 9 student Bobby for winning his first boxing bout, this was after a change of sport following several very successful years at G Force Martial Arts. Also congratulations to Year 10 student Liam for passing his black belt grading with flying colours at G Force Martial Arts! It is always great to hear about students’ successes outside of school and if you would like me to share such positive news in the future, please just email me ([email protected]). As for now, I wish you a very nice and relaxing summer. Carole Labreize
